Registration

  • Deposits will be taken for September and October 2023 only.

    This deposit will hold a place in the workshop until 29 February 2024, at which time the balance is due. If the balance is not paid by this date, you will forfeit your place and your deposit will be refunded, less a $50 administration fee.

    An invoice for the balance owing will be emailed to you on 15 February 2024.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION - Class participants will sew samples and techniques that can be utilised in a garment.

Some of the topics covered in this Modern Heirloom class will be

  • Fabric suitability & preparation
  • Using a variety of specialty needles – Twin & Wing needles
  • Stabilizers & interfacing
  • Shadow work
  • Creating decorative ribbons/insertions
  •  Decorative tucks
  • Decorative piping
  • Gathering & Pleating
  • Easy French seams

    KIT CONTENTS (provided by tutor):

    • voile, linen and silk fabric for samples
    • twin needle and wing needle
    • cording
    • embroidery thread

    STUDENT SUPPLY LIST:

    • white sewing thread
    • size 70 machine needles
    • pin tuck foot
    • edging foot – has a guide in the centre
    • fine, good quality pins – silk pins
    • dressmaking scissors
    • embroidery scissors with a curved blade
    • Notepad & pen
