BASIC BRA MAKING

Registration

  • Deposits will be taken for September and October 2023 only.

    This deposit will hold a place in the workshop until 29 February 2024, at which time the balance is due. If the balance is not paid by this date, you will forfeit your place and your deposit will be refunded, less a $50 administration fee.

    An invoice for the balance owing will be emailed to you on 15 February 2024.

FORMAT - Hands-on

TUTOR - Linda Jobson (read about tutor)  linda@lindaslingerie.com.au

SKILL LEVEL - advanced level of sewing skills required (i.e. sew a sleeve in, insert a zipper, waistband, collar, etc.)  Knowledge of sewing stretch fabrics not essential but would be helpful

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION - Participants will learn how to measure themselves to determine the correct size.  They will then trace their pattern pieces and learn about pattern placement before cutting out all components to sew their bra.  During the construction process they will learn the different methods of attaching elastic and hardware. The sewn bra will be fitted and adjusted to your body.  Time permitting, 

This class will cater for sizes up to E cup but not larger.

KIT CONTENTS (to be ordered from tutor):

  • pattern
  • all fabric, lace, powernet, etc required to make a bra
  • elastics
  • rings and slides
  • underwire casing
  • underwires
  • hook and eyes
  • decorative bow

The cost of the kit is NOT included in the price of this workshop.  The tutor will contact you regarding sizing and purchase of kits.  The cost of 1 kit and pattern is approximately $60.  Please note the tutor may suggest purchasing 2 kits.

STUDENT SUPPLY LIST:

  • stretch needles for sewing machine - sizes 12/80 and 14/90
  • large and small scissors
  • seam ripper
  • tape measure
  • pins 
  • thread to match kit fabric
  • pressing cloth for bonding i.e. calico
  • 1/2 metre vliesofix/heat n bond
  • note pad and pen
