SKILL LEVEL - confident beginner and beyond

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION - Class participants will sew samples of techniques that can be utilised in a garment.  Some of the topics covered in this class are:

  • fabric suitability and preparation
  • using a variety of specialty needles - twin & wing needles
  • stabilisers and interfacing
  • shadow work
  • creating decorative ribbons/insertions
  • decorative tucks
  • decorative piping

KIT CONTENTS (provided by tutor):

  • twin needle
  • wing needle
  • voile, linen, silk
  • cording
  • embroidery thread

STUDENT SUPPLY LIST:

  • white sewing thread
  • size 70 machine needles
  • pin tuck foot
  • fine good quality pins
  • dressmaking scissors
  • embroidery scissors with a curved blade
